A Run for THEIR Life is the only Breast Cancer Run held in Syracuse, New York whose proceeds go directly to SUNY Upstate Medical University.

Young and old of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate in this event. A Run for THEIR Life intends to encourage a competitive spirit in each category of participation including: Businesses, health care centers, schools and other organizations. On this application please identify your organization or team that you will be competing with. Individual competitors are welcome.

The 15k run, 5K run and walk will commence at 9:10 am. The 1.5 k Victory Walk start time is TBD. This event will be held on October 26, 2014, same day registration is available commencing at 7 am; closing at 8:15 am, and located at the Carmelo K. Anthony Basketball Center on the Syracuse University Campus.

The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY has added a new event this year, it is called the 1.5 K Victory Walk. The 1.5 K Victory Walk is for persons who may want to contribute in raising funds to find a cure for breast cancer but who may not be able to run or walk a significant distance. This race is designed for participants who utilize wheel chair assistance. Mom’s with strollers or those that may want to walk less than a mile are also welcome in this effort to assist us in fighting this terrible disease. The Course will commence at the Carmelo Anthony Center and proceed up Comstock Avenue. Returning down Comstock Avenue and back to the finish line. Everyone is invited to participate. The fee for the Victory Walk is $15.00 per participant. If there is an assistant needed to help with a wheelchair participant this person would be a walk entry and would be charged an additional $ 15.00 and must also register for the race.

The event includes a 1.5 k Victory Walk,  5k walk and run through Thornden Park and a 15k run which will proceed through Thornden Park and down through the Connective Corridor to the Armory Square Area and Back to Manley Field house. There will be a social area for organizational and team tents succeeding the race.

A Team format of businesses, schools and organizations will compete for prizes and awards Team awards will include: Most participants on a team, and most Team funds raised.

Individual prizes will be given out for both races for Men’s and Women’s overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finish and most funds raised. Prizes will also be given to 1st place in each age and gender group as well.
